Ramada Worldwide to open beach resort in Vietnam

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has signed its first hotel to fly the Ramada Worldwide by Wyndham brand flag in Ho Tram – one of the Vietnam’s most exciting up-and-coming destinations.

Owned and developed by Ho Tram Project Company Limited, Ramada by Wyndham Ho Tram Strip will be an upper-midscale seafront hotel located within the Ho Tram Strip – Vietnam’s first integrated beach resort destination which covers 164 hectares and a 2.2km beachfront site.

The hotel, which is currently under construction and expected to open in late 2019, is located less than two hours from Ho Chi Minh City and Tan Son Nhat International Airport. It will also be just 60km from the planned Long Thanh International Airport, set to become a major air gateway for Vietnam and the entire ASEAN region.

Nestled on 5.3 hectares of beachfront land, Ramada by Wyndham Ho Tram Strip will be 12 storeys high, ensuring spectacular sea views from many parts of the property. The 241-key hotel will include seven two-bedroom penthouses and 36 three-bedroom villas, making the hotel ideal for families.

Vietnam is a key focus market for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts – the company, currently operates the Wyndham Legend Halong Bay, and plans to open six new hotels and resorts under its Wyndham Grand, Wyndham, and Wyndham Garden brands over the next three years.

Joon Aun Ooi, president and managing director, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, South East Asia and Pacific Rim, said: “Vietnam is one of the world’s most dynamic tourism destinations.

“The country attracted 7.9 million international visitors in the first half of 2018, putting it firmly on course for yet another record-breaking year – potentially exceeding the previous record of 12.9 million visitors achieved in 2017.

“To cater for this strong demand, impressive new developments are rising all across the country, including the Ho Tram Strip – Vietnam’s first and largest integrated resort.

Ooi said Ramada by Wyndham Ho Tram Strip would be a spectacular new project that would add to the diverse attractions and amenities in the impressive development.

What the resort's Villas will look like

“The debut of Ramada in Vietnam will also present travellers with a trusted brand in the upper-midscale sector, blending world-class amenities with local touches to create authentic guest experiences,” he added.

“With its idyllic seafront setting and close proximity to Ho Chi Minh City, I am confident that Ramada by Wyndham Ho Tram Strip will become popular with domestic and international travellers alike.”

The hotel’s design is set to incorporate a range of water elements, including two tropical outdoor pools, reflective ponds, and a water-lined walkway to the beach. Other hotel facilities will include a spa, a gym, two restaurants, a pool bar, and meeting rooms. Guests will also be able to access the facilities and attractions of the surrounding Ho Tram Strip, including a convention centre, a casino, a shopping precinct, multiple restaurants and bars, and The Bluffs, an 18-hole links-style championship golf course designed by Greg Norman which is rated among the top 100 golf courses in the world. A brand new water park is also under construction as well as an amphitheatre seating up to 2,000 people.

Michael Kelly, executive chairman of Ho Tram Project Company Limited, said: “Ramada by Wyndham Ho Tram Strip is the newest and most exciting addition to the Ho Tram Strip. The Ramada brand is renowned in the hotel industry for exceptional service, making it the perfect partner for our world-class project. We look forward to working together with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts as we prepare for our opening late next year.”
