Wyndham Surfers Paradise appoints new GM

Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific (WVRAP) has appointed a global award winner to oversee Wyndham Surfers Paradise, one of the most prestigious properties in its portfolio.

Kaydee George comes to the Gold Coast after two years as resort manager at Ramada Resort Wanaka in New Zealand, where she markedly improved the 68-room resort’s guest, financial and environmental performance.

Kaydee George

Prior to Ramada Resort Wanaka, George was hotel manager at Ramada Perth, The Outram. She has 12 years’ experience in hospitality, the vast majority of which has been spent in leadership positions, from might manager to resort manager.

Earlier this year, George was named the winner of Wyndham’s global Caught Green Handed Award for 2017, an accolade given to the most impressive environmental performance of the year across the hospitality giant’s corporate offices and managed properties. George’s green initiatives reduced Ramada Resort Wanaka’s carbon emissions and cut annual gas consumption by half.

Matt Taplin, senior vice president Hotel and Resort Operations & Property Development, said George has consistently excelled across five years with Wyndham.

“Kaydee is an excellent example of how to build a successful career in hospitality through hard work and a determination to create personalised and memorable experiences for guests,” he said.

“Under her leadership, Ramada Resort Wanaka recorded higher guest satisfaction and revenue and we are looking forward to seeing what Kaydee can do at one of our most popular properties.”
