Akabusi among keynote speakers at RDO7 conference

European timeshare body the Resort Development Organisation (RDO) has confirmed that former athlete Kriss Akabusi will give the opening keynote at this year’s RDO7 conference.

Akabusi is famous for his achievements in athletics where his greatest individual triumph was his gold medal in the 1990 European Championships, beating David Hemery’s 22-year-old British record for the 400m hurdles – a record he still holds.

In 1992 the three-times Olympic medallist, and World, European and Commonwealth Champion was awarded the MBE. He is currently working on a two-year MBA (Masters in Business Administration) program at Ashridge Business School, to augment his 20-plus years’ experience gained through professional speaking, training and facilitating workshops in the corporate arena.

The second keynote speaker at this year’s event is Simon Hazeldine. A bestselling author of five business books, Hazeldine has a Masters Degree in Psychology, is a Fellow of the Institute of Sales & Marketing Management, a longstanding member of the Professional Speaking Association and a licensed Prism Neuroscience Brain Mapping Practitioner. His client list includes many Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 companies, and as a highly experienced and in-demand international speaker he has spoken in over 30 countries across six continents.

The keynote speaker line-up for RDO7 is completed by Caspar Berry. Having studied economics at Cambridge, at 25 he moved to Las Vegas to become a professional poker player, even becoming poker advisor on the James Bond movie Casino Royale. In 2002 Berry co-founded Twenty First Century Media and built it into the fastest-growing audiovisual media company in the North East of England before selling it in 2008 to Bob Geldof’s media giant, Ten Alps. At the same time he developed his career as a speaker, and is now the veteran of over 2,000 speeches in 30 countries for 400 companies including Visa, Google, McDonalds and IBM.

The RDO7 Taking Ownership conference takes place in London from 20-22 September 2016, and RCI is again among the event’s Platinum Sponsors. For more information visit www.rdoconference.org
