easyJet launches three new routes from Luton

Low-cost carrier easyJet has announced it will operate three new routes from this winter with the addition of Tenerife, Lanzarote and Toulouse – the latter of which will operate all year round.

The two Canary Islands are firm winter sun hot spots – as well as key timeshare resort destinations – while Toulouse, a gateway to the Pyrenees mountain range, will appeal to both to leisure and business travellers alike.

The airline has also announced it will take delivery of its 20th and 21st Luton-based aircraft in September to support the new routes.

Across the new routes the airline is expected to fly 1,100 passengers a week from the airport, operating twice a week to Lanzarote and Tenerife and four times a week to Toulouse.

easyJet now services 55 destinations from London Luton Airport, and the new routes will enable it to continue to support the redevelopment of the airport, the results of which will ultimately provide much-needed improvements and enable passenger numbers to increase – in turn driving economic growth and jobs for Luton and the surrounding region.

Neil Slaven, commercial manager at easyJet, said: “We’re pleased to be continuing to deliver an unrivalled network of destinations with three new routes placed on sale from London Luton Airport.

“This underlines our commitment to both leisure and business passengers in the region. It is safe to say we are seeing significant growth at the airport in increasing the choice of winter holiday destinations for our passengers.”
