Langdale Estate to open exclusive new spa

The Langdale Estate in the heart of England’s Lake District, home to Brimstone Hotel and Langdale Hotel, is set to open a new, state-of-the-art spa this winter.

Lavishly contemporary in style, Brimstone Spa will be exclusive to the Estate’s guests and offer a luxury, sensory experience inspired by the Lake District landscapes.

Facilities will include a private spa suite for two, seven thermal experiences, an infinity pool, a range of chill out areas, ten treatment rooms offering specially-designed bespoke treatments and a deli.

The Bubble, Brimstone Spa’s private suite will be available to hire in its entirety by the half-day or day and will be equipped with twin treatment beds, an air bath, thermal experiences, a double shower, a dreamy double bed and will be the only area of the spa to offer a Venik treatment, executed using birch branches gathered from trees growing locally to the Estate.

The spa itself will offer its guests a very personal journey, gifting each on arrival with a muslin bag of aroma-infused salts tailored to their mood, to use throughout their spa journey and take home with them – prolonging their experience – for a relaxing spa-inspired bath.

It will boast thermal experiences including a Himalayan salt steam grotto, fragrance columns, foot-spas and a lava sauna and will offer an infinity pool which spans from indoor to outdoor, leading to a covered outdoor space complete with wood burning stove, relaxation beds and outdoor sauna.

The spa will also have five chill-out areas including a Deep Relax space with relaxation pods, a peaceful space overlooking woodland so guests can take in the natural vista and a plush relaxation area complete with double beds.

Brimstone Spa has developed a range of exclusive body therapies, inspired by nature and all using Alchemy products created with natural, organic, local ingredients. Unusually, the treatments include a nurturing Comfort Repose treatment, gentle enough for guests who are undergoing chemotherapy.

After their treatments guests can visit the Apothecary where the bespoke oil blends used during their therapy can be recreated for them as they watch and decanted into recycled glass jars, ready for them to take home and enjoy.

To complete the spa journey, Brimstone Spa Deli will offer a menu of nourishing dishes and juices, focussing as much on taste and enjoyment as it does on natural, wholefood ingredients.

Brimstone Spa is set to launch at the start of November and can only be accessed by guests staying on the Langdale Estate, which contains three RCI-affiliated properties – Langdale, Chapel Stile Apartments at Langdale and Elterwater Hall at Langdale.

Access to Brimstone Spa will be included in the standard room rate for guests staying at Brimstone Hotel and will cost £45 per day for guests staying at Langdale Hotel.
