Monarch adds new destinations for summer 2017

Leading UK independent airline group Monarch – which was recently forced to deny rumours that it is in financial trouble – has announced the addition of three exciting new destinations to its network.

Flights to Stockholm, Porto and Zagreb are all now available to book for travel from 28 April 2017, with flights from Birmingham, London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester.

To support the new routes an additional aircraft will be based at Manchester airport.

The new routes will have the following frequencies:

  • Birmingham-Stockholm – 3x weekly flights (Thurs, Fri, Sun)
  • Luton-Stockholm – 2x weekly flights (Mon, Fri)
  • Manchester-Stockholm – 3x weekly flights (Thurs, Fri, Sun)
  • Gatwick-Zagreb – 3x weekly flights (Mon, Wed, Fri)
  • Manchester-Zagreb – 2x weekly flights (Mon, Sat)
  • Luton-Porto – 3x weekly flights (Tues, Sat, Sun)
  • Manchester-Porto – 3x weekly flights (Thurs, Fri, Sun)

 

The city of Porto is a popular year-round destination and becomes the fourth Portuguese destination in Monarch’s network, joining Lisbon, which was introduced last summer, Faro and Funchal.

The Swedish capital of Stockholm is a vibrant city made up of 14 islands that all be explored on foot thanks to an extensive network of bridges. A great city for exploring, Stockholm has a wide variety of shops, cafés and museums.

The Croatian capital Zagreb has been growing in popularity over the last few years and makes an ideal city break, with gothic themes and colourful architecture.

As well as the three new destinations, Monarch has now put Birmingham-Nice, Luton-Arrecife, and Luton-Rome on sale and has added frequencies to popular destinations for summer 2017 including:

  • London Gatwick – Lisbon
  • Manchester – Barcelona
  • Manchester – Lisbon
  • Manchester – Rhodes
