Macdonald Resorts renews RCI affiliation agreement
Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, the UK’s largest independent hotel group, has signed a new long-term contract with RCI, having been affiliated to the world’s leading holiday exchange services provider for more than 20 years.
The group currently has 10 resorts affiliated to the RCI holiday exchange programme – four in Spain, four in Scotland, one in Wales and one in England. Each resort has earned an RCI quality award, with eight having been awarded RCI Gold Crown status, and two receiving RCI Silver Crown status.
Simon Jackson, CEO of Macdonald Resorts Ltd, said: “The long-standing relationship we have with RCI continues to deliver year after year, both in terms of the flexibility it offers to thousands of our owners and in the support we receive from RCI on a day-to-day basis.
Great relationship
“Through RCI, our owners are able to maximise diversity in their holiday planning, while we are able to offer flexibility, combined with the consistent quality and high standards our owners expect of our product, and which they have come to rely on.
“This is a partnership which works well for all concerned. We have a great relationship with the helpful staff at RCI and we are delighted to be continuing to work closely with them.”
Dimitris Manikis, vice president of Business Development, RCI Europe/Middle East/Africa, said: “Quality sets the timeshare accommodation and experience apart from other self-catering holiday types. Macdonald Hotels & Resorts can be relied upon to ensure that its resorts, guest facilities and service levels are of a consistently high standard – our commendation of all Macdonald properties in our exchange network with RCI awards speaks for itself.
“We are both proud and pleased to be continuing this long and fruitful association with a developer company that offers a product that is popular with our members and which has been meeting our quality criteria for many years now.”
The success of Macdonald Hotels & Resorts can be attributed in part to the fantastic locations of its properties, together with their standout features, of which Macdonald Spey Valley & Golf Country Club in Aviemore, Scotland, is a prime example. The apartments are set in acres of mature woodland on the banks of the River Spey and the golf course was recently voted to be the most picturesque golf course in the UK at the Scottish Golf Tourism Awards 2015.
