Pestana adds three hotels to portfolio

Pestana Hotel Group has added Pestana Alvor South Beach, Pestana Bahia Praia and Pestana Alvor Praia to its collection of Hotels & Resorts as it continues to expand its portfolio.

The new properties in the Algarve and the Azores mean Portugal’s largest international tourism and leisure group, which has a number of properties affiliated to RCI, now has nearly 90 four and five-star hotels across the world.

Pestana Alvor South Beach

Inspired by the South Beach spirit in Miami, where Pestana Hotel Group already has an Art Deco hotel, Pestana Alvor South Beach makes the most of its location just 97 steps from the ocean, with direct access to the beach. The hotel features a contemporary design, with 90 rooms including 57 suites, three outdoor swimming pools with a large pool deck lounge, bar and restaurant. The young and dynamic team have also created a tailored programme of activities to include signature outdoor fitness classes for guests to make the most of the al fresco lifestyle.

In addition to its prime location on Alvor Beach, the hotel is a 10-minute walk from the popular Três Irmãos beach and picturesque village of Alvor, and just 7km from Portimão, the largest city in the west Algarve.

Pestana Bahia Praia

The hotel’s iconic marble spiral staircase leading to the lake has maintained its place during the refurbishment, while new additions include the innovative a la carte restaurant, led by iconic chef Dominique Lienhard, as well as a more contemporary style using decorative elements inspired by works of Portuguese plastic artists, organic wood and bright marble. There is also a new gym, interior pool and spa.

New to the Azores, Pestana Bahia Praia is located in Vila Franca do Campo, in the island of Sao Miguel, a convenient 15 minutes from the airport. With direct access to Agua d’Alto, one of the island’s most beautiful beaches, the hotel offers clear views spanning the Atlantic ocean as well as the surrounding mountains. The hotel features 85 junior suites and five senior suites, which work in unison with the surrounding environment, evoking a refined atmosphere.
