Two new TRYP resorts for the Iberian peninsula
Meliá Hotels International has announced the signing of agreements to add two new TRYP hotels in Mallorca and Lisbon.
TRYP Santa Ponsa hotel is located on the Calviá coast of Mallorca where Meliá Hotels International is the leading hotel chain, while the TRYP Costa Caparica hotel is set on the charismatic Setubal Peninsula, about 20 kilometres from Lisbon Airport.
Both hotels will be added to the huge portfolio of the TRYP by Wyndham brand, acquired in 2010 from Meliá Hotels International by Wyndham Hotel Group, parent of RCI and the world’s largest hotel chain by number of hotels.
Meliá continues to operate 85 branded hotels under ownership, lease, management or franchise agreements, and the dynamic and versatile brand already has hotels in 15 countries, including Brazil, Spain, Germany, the United States, Australia and Colombia, most of them in city locations.
Classic hotel renovated
TRYP Santa Ponsa will open in 2017 after the thorough renovation of a classic hotel in the destination, one of the most traditional in Mallorca, and just 300 metres from the beach. The four-star property will have 60 rooms, a conference room, swimming pool and fitness room, as well as a bar and restaurant at street level on the busy main road in Santa Ponsa.
The 4-star TRYP Caparica Hotel will have 352 rooms, a restaurant, bar and lounge, swimming pool and fitness centre, and is scheduled to open in April 2017 after a thorough renovation.
Its location is ideal – the Caparica coastline stretches for about 30 kilometres west of the Setubal peninsula in Portugal, with an array of attractions, including spectacular white-sand beaches ideal for surfing. Its close proximity to Lisbon airport also makes the area a popular holiday destination and for urban getaway breaks to Lisbon.
