Meliá opens luxury resort in Dominican Republic

Meliá Hotels International has held the official opening ceremony for the newest of seven properties in the Dominican Republic, the Grand Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real.

The $100-million, 432-room luxury all-inclusive hotel also contains a 144 one and two-bedroom Circle by Meliá membership resort.

On hand for the commemoration were Danilo Medina, President of the Dominican Republic; Francisco Javier Garcia Fernandez, the Dominican Republic Minister of Tourism; Paola Raineri, president of ASONAHORES (National Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Dominican Republic) and Alvaro Tejeda Schroder, Melia Hotels International’s regional vice president for the Americas.

Tejeda said: “Together The Grand Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real and Circle by Meliá strengthen our company’s brand and represents the best quality and highest luxury travel experience in the destination and in the Dominican Republic.

“Both were built with the vision of reducing carbon dioxide emissions and modeling sustainability.”

According to Tejeda, the hotel and resort, which together employ 1,000 people, were planned and opened with a sophisticated design that incorporates advanced technologies based on internet use, enabling guests and members access to their resort and room installations around the clock.

“Meliá’s goal is to promote sustainable growth and create long-term relationships with strategic partners with a brand that guarantees an absolute commitment to responsible tourism, the environment and integration of local culture,” he said.

The Grand Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real and Circle by Meliá together feature 14 speciality restaurants and bars, the world-class Maia Spa, BLAST! Aqua Adventure water park, Kid’s Club, Fitness Studio and seven swimming pools. A total of 108 special ground-level Swim-Up Suites have direct access to an exclusive pool, complete with lush garden areas and a solarium.

Circle by Meliá members experience redefined vacation ownership in Punta Cana with infinite vacations, luxury and services.

Life enriching experiences feature cooking classes with a resident chef, health and wellness in the Circle Studio inside the state-of-the-art spa and fitness facility with dedicated small group instruction, water sports and water activities, world-class golf instruction and golf analytics, and much more.
