Olivier Chavy named as president, RCI Exchanges

Olivier Chavy has been appointed as the new president of RCI Exchanges.

An industry veteran with more than three decades of experience in the hospitality profession, Chavy succeeds Gordon Gurnik, who left the company last year to take up a position with Hilton Grand Vacations.

A French native, Chavy most recently served as CEO of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, and has 30 years of international hospitality experience and executive leadership roles spanning luxury hotel and timeshare resort operations to global interior design.

At RCI Exchanges he will assume responsibility for the strategic direction, operation and growth of the network and travel services of RCI Exchanges, including oversight of its collection of leading brands including RCI, The Registry Collection, DAE and Love Home Swap.

Michael D. Brown, president and CEO of parent company Wyndham Destinations, said: “Olivier will strengthen RCI Exchanges with his dynamic leadership and his impressive depth of experience in hospitality operations and international business.

“His highly regarded capabilities will ignite our growth strategy and enhance the service provided to RCI members, affiliates and associates.”

“We are committed to leveraging the strengths of RCI and to the development of innovative new programmes to fortify the value of membership. Olivier invigorates our outlook with his successful history of remaining relevant and accommodating to customers of the world’s luxury hotels, timeshare resorts, hospitality brands and design firms.”

Under Chavy’s leadership, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts experienced an era of unprecedented expansion through new resort openings, pipeline development and portfolio growth of more than 40 per cent. The revitalisation of the upscale Swiss hotel management company thrived with Chavy’s appointment of millennial leaders to guide the repositioning and reinvention of the guest experience.

Prior to Mövenpick, he served as president and CEO of international interior design firm Wilson Associates. Chavy’s aptitude for brand development, innovative design, and client engagement fuelled the global growth of the business and its transformation to a Public Chinese Company that listed on the Shanghai Stock Market in 2015.

His extensive hospitality career also includes executive roles with Hilton, where he served as Senior Vice President, Resort Operations for Hilton Grand Vacations, overseeing the operation of 52 vacation ownership resorts in the portfolio while also serving as Area Vice President Hotel Operations for all Hilton brands in the Southeast region.

He was then appointed International Head of Luxury & Lifestyle Brand Performance for Hilton, where he led global teams through the expansion of Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts and Conrad brands, including 22 major property openings worldwide. Chavy also served as General Manager of renowned luxury hotels including Hilton Arc de Triomphe Paris, France and Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa, Mauritius Island.
