Hilton to manage major dual-branded hotel project in India

Hilton has signed a management agreement with Manyata Promoters Private Limited, part of the Embassy Group and one of the leading real estate developers in India, for a 586-room dual-branded hotel project in Embassy Manyata Business Park in North Bengaluru.

The move will create one of the largest dual-branded hotel projects in India, with a 250-room Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand hotel and a 336-room Hilton Garden Inn brand hotel. In addition to the full range of facilities and services, the hotel project will also offer 46,000 sq. ft. of Meetings and Events space.

Mixed-use development

Targeted to open in 2020, the dual-branded hotel project will be part of a mixed-use development that also includes two commercial towers and an extensive Food and Beverage Hub. It will be developed and owned by the Embassy Group and managed by Hilton.

Jim Holthouser, executive vice president, global brands, Hilton, said: “Sustainable expansion in India with a multi-brand and multiple-partners strategy is a strategic priority for Hilton.

“This incredible country continues to deliver strong economic growth and the potential of its hospitality industry is exponential. We look forward to continuing to contribute to this growth with our commitment to extending our footprint and introducing our global industry-leading best practices to our guests in the country.”

The new project is Hilton’s second with the Embassy Group. The company also operates Hilton Bangalore Embassy GolfLinks, located within the Embassy GolfLinks Business Park, which is owned by the Embassy Group. The launch of the hotel in 2014 marked the Embassy Group’s foray into the hospitality industry.

‘Strong partnership’

On signing the agreement, Guy Phillips, senior vice president, development – Asia and Australasia, Hilton, said: “We are very pleased to extend our strong partnership with the Embassy Group and bolster the success of the Hilton Bangalore Embassy GolfLinks through the management agreement for a 586-room dual-branded hotel project featuring two brands – our flagship Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand and popular upscale Hilton Garden Inn brand.

“We continue to see increasing brand awareness across our brand portfolio in India and this agreement underscores our long-term commitment to this country as a strategically important market where we now operate 15 hotels across 12 cities covering most major markets in the country.”

Jitu Virwani, chairman and managing director, Embassy Group, added: “We are delighted to expand and strengthen our partnership with Hilton. Our first hospitality project with Hilton at Embassy GolfLinks has been a great success and we are looking forward to extending our partnership to newer heights.”

Hilton currently operates 15 hotels and resorts under five brands and across 11 cities covering most major markets in India.
