Carlson Rezidor accelerates growth in India
Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group accelerated its expansion plans in India by signing 12 new hotels in 2017, which will be operated by a variety of its global brands.
The signings add to the company’s robust pipeline in India where it currently holds a portfolio of 140 hotels in operation and under development across 60 Indian cities. The hotel group is actively pursuing opportunities through management and selective franchising contracts in emerging cities of India.

“We are a dominant international brand in India and our robust pipeline is targeted at state capitals and regional markets with efficient connectivity.
“We have 85 hotels in operation in the country where we continue to sign a new hotel every four weeks and open a hotel every six weeks.”
The new hotel signings are focused across Carlson Rezidor’s global brands Radisson Blu, Radisson, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson and Country Inns & Suites By Carlson. With the announcement of Radisson RED in Mohali, Chandigarh last year, Carlson Rezidor’s South Asia portfolio now constitutes six well-established and differentiated global brands.
Radisson Blu Dehradun – Located in the state capital of Uttarakhand, Radisson Blu Dehradun provides easy access to the commercial and residential areas of the city and is a gateway to Mussoorie – one of the most popular hill stations of India. The greenfield project is expected to be operational by 2021.
Radisson Jodhpur is located close to the airport and city centre and provides easy access to tourist attractions including Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace, Balsamand Lakes and Gardens, Mandore, Mahamandir Temple and Kayalana Lake. The hotel will have modern, contemporary rooms with Rajasthani architecture and will commence operations in December.
Radisson Mumbai Goregaon is a hotel conversion located at S.V. Road junction near Veer Savarkar flyover in Goregaon West, the main commercial and retail hub of Goregaon suburb of Mumbai. The hotel’s amenities will include an open-to-sky Middle Eastern restaurant, meeting space, fitness centre and swimming pool. Expected to be operational by December 2017, it will be the first Radisson branded hotel in the city.
Radisson Bengaluru City Center is located in the heart of the city of Bengaluru, making it attractive for both business and leisure travellers. It will feature a rooftop bar lounge, swimming pool, spa and 1,300 square feet of meeting space. The hotel is likely to be operational by Q1 2018.

Radisson Zirakpur is located in proximity to the prominent Ambala-Chandigarh highway and offers excellent access to the major tri-cities of Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula. The hotel marks entry for the Radisson brand in this market and will feature a business centre, business class lounge, all day dining/café, themed bar, fitness centre and swimming pool. The hotel is in advanced stages of construction and expected to be operational by Q2 2018.
Radisson Goa Baga is situated in North Goa close to Baga market and at the epicentre of all tourist activities. The hotel will come equipped with an all-day-dining restaurant and an alfresco restaurant and bar. It will also offer meeting spaces of approximately 6,000 square feet, spa and swimming pool. The hotel is in advanced stages of construction and expected to open in 2019.
Radisson Bhopal marks Carlson Rezidor’s entry to the capital city of Madhya Pradesh. The hotel is an upscale property in the heart of the residential and commercial hub of the city and will be equipped with an all-day-dining restaurant, themed bar, fitness centre and swimming pool. The hotel is expected to start operations by 2020.
Radisson Mumbai Andheri MIDC is located in Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) – one of the prominent industrial zones of Mumbai. The hotel is currently under construction and expected to be operational by 2019.

Radisson Kufri is located in a popular leisure destination for domestic travellers and is an ideal starting point for adventure treks to Manali, Shimla, Rewalsar and Fagu among others. The hotel will comprise a main building and six cottages with panoramic views. Construction has already commenced and it is expected to be operational by 2020.
Radisson Rewa will be the first upscale branded hotel in the city of Rewa, Madhya Pradesh and marks a significant step forward in Carlson Rezidor’s strategy of signing hotels in emerging tier III cities. The hotel is located in close proximity to the railway station and the industrial hub of the city. Construction of the hotel has already commenced and it is expected to be operational by 2020.
Park Plaza Kaushambi is located in the business and commercial hub of Kaushambi, offering excellent connectivity to East Delhi and Noida micro markets. In addition to modern and contemporary rooms, the hotel will offer a pre-function area and meeting space of approximately 20,000 square feet and be equipped with a fitness centre and swimming pool. The hotel is in advanced stages in construction and is expected to commence operations by Q4 2018.
With Country Inn & Suites by Carlson Bareilly, Carlson Rezidor has established its first mover advantage in a city that currently has no branded hotels. The property is a greenfield project where construction has commenced and is expected to be completed by 2021. Located within six kilometres from the city centre, the hotel adjoins National Highway 24 and Bareilly Railway station, offering easy accessibility by rail and road.
