LATA launches website to inspire travel to region
The Latin American Travel Association (LATA) has created a new website designed to inspire more visitors to the region, with improved travel content, information and the latest Latin American travel news.
Representing an ever-growing travel community with unrivalled passion and knowledge for Latin America, LATA is made up of over 275 companies including tourism boards, airlines, hotels and tour operators. Created with the help of the LATA members, the new website contains a range of insider information and aims to bring Latin America to life with vibrant imagery and inspiring itineraries.
Among key areas of the site is a ‘Good to Know’ section that provides tips on local food and drink such as Barbancourt rum in Haiti or cashew wine in Belize, as well as the main Latin American festivals and events such as Las Llamadas carnival in Montevideo, Uruguay, the Tapati festival in Chile’s Easter Islands or the Inca festival of the winter solstice, enacted at the fortress of Sacsayhuama in Peru.
With regular features such as ‘Panama’s lesser known sites’, ‘Colombia’s nine mouth-watering dishes’ and the ‘natural wonders of Latin America’, the ‘News’ section aims to tantalise visitors to the site with the many flavours of Latin America.
Byron Shirto, chairman of LATA, said: “The launch of our new website is the result of months of behind-the-scenes work, liaising with our expert members both in the UK and in Latin America to ensure we provide the very best information which is inspiring, unique and factually correct.
“We hope this new resource will further position LATA as the go-to authority on travel to and around Latin America and the voice of the Latin American travel industry.”
