Dusit launches hospitality school in Manila
Leading Asian hospitality group Dusit International has launched its own hospitality school in the Philippine capital Manila.
The Dusit Hospitality Management College (DHMC) is an innovative concept in hospitality education, and will be fully integrated with upmarket hotel the dusitD2 The Fort, Manila.
Scheduled to open in 2017, the new college brings together a number of trusted names in international hospitality and culinary education to offer students education and training to the highest international standards. Degree programmes will be certified by the world-renowned École Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), while professional advancement and culinary programmes will be introduced in collaboration with the Institut Paul Bocuse.
When completed, the facilities at the DHMC and the dusitD2 The Fort Manila hotel will include world-class hospitality education facilities including practical kitchens, restaurants, function rooms, recreational facilities – including a swimming pool and fitness centre – and 125 guest rooms. In addition to their studies, students at DHMC will gain work experience in different areas of the hotel.
The launch event was held at the Dusit Thani Manila’s newly-renovated Mayuree ballroom and presided over by Ms Suphajee Suthumpun, Dusit Group CEO. Nearly 200 of the industry’s top executives and influencers attended the event, which included an address from Ramon Jimenez, Jr, Secretary of the Department of Tourism of the Philippines.
