TCA Abu Dhabi teams up with Manchester City

Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) has teamed up with Premier League football team Manchester City for an ‘extraordinary’ new marketing campaign.

With the 2017/18 Premier League season fast approaching, TCA Abu Dhabi and Manchester City FC have launched a new season-long campaign that gives fans the chance to create their own extraordinary story on a trip to the UAE capital by sharing extraordinary memories and stories about being a Manchester City supporter.

The ‘Extraordinary City Story’ activity kicks off with a competition offering fans the chance to win prizes such as tickets to the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and a grand prize of an all-expenses paid trip to Abu Dhabi coupled with tickets to a Manchester City game at the Etihad Stadium. To be in with a chance to win, supporters need to share their most ‘extraordinary’ memory of being a City fan using the hashtag #ExtraordinaryCityStory.

To celebrate the launch of the global competition, TCA Abu Dhabi unveiled a specially-commissioned shirt in the UAE capital at the luxurious Emirates Palace – the venue for Manchester City’s mid-season training session last February.

The shirt was worn by Sergio Aguero, Kevin de Bruyne, Vincent Kompany and the rest of the City stars when they took on the likes of city rivals Manchester United, European champions Real Madrid and London giants Tottenham Hotspur during a pre-season tour in the USA.

Sultan Al Dhaheri, acting executive director of Tourism at TCA Abu Dhabi, said: “TCA Abu Dhabi is extremely excited about teaming up with Manchester City for this season-long campaign.

“As official destination partner of Manchester City Football Club, this activity gives fans from across the world the chance to win a fantastic trip to the UAE capital to experience our extraordinary city and also to watch the stars of Manchester City in action.

“It also gives them the opportunity to share with other fans those amazing, unique, unforgettable moments that make following their team so special.”
