AHIF will look at role of tourism in conservation

The programme for this year’s Africa Hotel Investment Forum (AHIF) in Nairobi will feature an in-depth look at the status of wildlife in Africa and what is needed to protect the continent’s biodiversity.

Leading panellists will discuss the current contribution of tourism to protected area management budgets and the ideal role tourism could play in conservation and how it could be achieved.

Industry leaders participating in this discussion include:

  • Oliver Poole, Executive Director, The Giants Club
  • Giles Davies, Founder, Conservation Capital
  • Patrick Fitzgibbon, Senior Vice President Development, EMEA, Hilton
  • Dickson Kaelo, Chief Executive Officer, Kenya Wildlife Conservancies Association
  • Tom Lalampaa, Chief Executive Officer, Northern Rangelands Trust
  • Kaddu Sebunya, President, African Wildlife Foundation

The presence of so many of Africa’s conservation agencies sends a signal that tourism and development organisations must consider conservation as an important factor.

The Africa Hotel Investment Forum is the only annual hotel investment conference that connects business leaders from the international and local markets. The event brings together the who’s who of the hotel investment community that drive investment into tourism projects, infrastructure and hotel development across Africa.

AHIF has proven to be Africa’s annual meeting place for the region’s most senior hotel investors, developers, operators and advisors. It is the annual conference that connects business leaders from international and local markets to do deals across the region.

This year’s event takes place from 2-4 October 2018 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Upper Hill Nairobi, Kenya. For more details visit www.africa-conference.com/purchase-pass
