Wyndham Hotel Group and ADM Business, a privately-owned Ethiopian company, have announced the opening of Ramada Addis, Addis Ababa in Ethiopia.

The hotel is owned by ADM Business and will be operated as a Ramada-branded property by Wyndham Hotel Group under a management agreement.

The Ramada Addis, Addis Ababa, which brings more than 250 jobs to the city, is conveniently located near Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, shopping malls, embassies and international organisations.

It features 136 individually air-conditioned rooms, both high-speed wireless and wired internet access and offers guests single, double and suite accommodation.

Ignace Bauwens, regional vice president, Middle East & Africa, Wyndham Hotel Group, said: “More people are travelling than ever before and they are seeking out new and exciting destinations, such as Ethiopia.

“These travellers want the security of staying with international brands that they know and trust. “Ramada is a brand known around the world, and is a preferred choice of global travellers.

“We are thrilled to add Addis Ababa to the long list of cities where Ramada hotels can be found.”

In addition to becoming a beacon for international visitors to Addis Ababa, the Ramada is poised to become a favourite dining destination for locals.

H.E. Dr. Mulatu Teshome, president of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, welcomed the Ramada hotel brand to Ethiopia at the property’s opening ceremony.

“In recent years Ethiopia has been in the forefront of its developing country counterparts in paving the way for foreign and local investment,” he said. “The opening of the Ramada Addis, Addis Ababa is a testament to our unwavering efforts toward accelerating the growth of the local hotel business.”
