BA adds Tenerife flights to meet winter demand

The timeshare hotspot of Tenerife is set to become even more accessible to UK holidaymakers, with British Airways unveiling its biggest-ever schedule to the largest of the Canary Islands.

From 28 October to 31 March 2019, British Airways is increasing its flights from London Gatwick to Tenerife South from eight to 13 flights a week, including its Club Europe (business class) seats.

The new flights will depart London Gatwick every Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the winter season.

Tenerife benefits from a sunny climate all year round, making it an ideal winter sun destination for travellers from the UK. Families are particularly well catered for in Tenerife, with a range of safe and family friendly resorts to choose from.

Range of acitivities

While Tenerife offers sun-seekers a relaxing holiday destination with plenty of sunshine, it also has a huge range of activities for outdoor adventurers to enjoy, including hiking and mountain climbing, caving and stargazing. There are also a number of water sports activities such as yachting and paddle boarding for those who want to take to the open water.

Alberto Bernabé, Tourism Minister for the Tenerife Island Government, said: “We are extremely pleased that British Airways is increasing its flight frequency from London Gatwick to Tenerife South airport this winter.

“With this being the largest capacity of British Airways seats to Tenerife in history, there has never been a better time to book your winter break and enjoy our spring-like temperatures, beautiful and varied landscape and fine gastronomy!”
