Cyprus records strong November visitor figures
Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) has revealed that November 2017 was another successful month for both UK and global visitors with year-on-year arrivals up 18.4 per cent and 16.5 per cent respectively.
The latest statistics follow on from news that visitor numbers between January and October 2017 exceeded the total visitor arrivals for 2016.
From January to November 2017, Cyprus’ global tourist arrivals was 3,553,149 – a 14.7 per cent increase on the same period in 2016.
The figure includes 1,225,621 UK arrivals from January to November 2017, representing an 8.3 per cent increase on the previous year.
The strong end to the year is partly due to CTO’s successful promotion of its winter sun offering with the month of November alone up 16.5 per cent globally year-on-year (144,676 arrivals) and up 18.4 per cent for the UK market (51,263 arrivals).
Orestis Rossides, UK director of the CTO, said: “We’re delighted to see Cyprus continuing to perform well through the winter and are proud of achieving another record-breaking year.”
