Mark Nuzzo joins Diamond Resorts International

Leading vacation ownership company Diamond Resorts International (DRI) has named industry leader Mark Nuzzo as its executive vice president of Global Resort Operations, after an interim transition period.

Nuzzo will assume the role previously held by Ronan O’Gorman, who, after a dedicated and successful career in the hospitality industry, has announced he will retire at the end of 2018.

Michael Flaskey, chief executive officer of DRI, said: “Mark is an expert in the industry, and we are excited to welcome him to our Diamond Resorts team. We are confident he will continue to lead global Resort Operations to success.

“We also extend our sincerest gratitude to Ronan, who has committed to remain in his role as an advisor to ensure a smooth transition with his successor.”

Long-term experience

Nuzzo brings nearly 40 years of experience in the hospitality and vacation ownership industries, most recently serving as president of The Sonnenschein Groupe and its subsidiaries, including American Resorts International and Sonnenschein Property Management.

Prior to that role, Nuzzo served as managing partner of Creative Impact LLC, and as president of RCI Resort Management. Nuzzo also spent more than 20 years in various leadership roles at Fairfield Communities, and was one of the leaders responsible for the original development and implementation of the Fairshare Plus Programs, now known as Wyndham Vacation Ownership.

During his tenure at Diamond Resorts, O’Gorman accomplished many milestones, including launching the Resort Operations Fundamentals of providing world-class service, establishing financially healthy HOAs, maintaining and continually refurbishing resorts, and becoming the employer of choice.
