AMResorts inks two new resort deals in Mexico

AMResorts has announced two new resort brand management deals in partnership with Oasis Hotels & Resorts, an international hotel group with properties throughout Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe.

The deals expand the Apple Leisure Group’s (ALG) affiliated brand’s family-friendly resort portfolio in the country, growing the Now Resorts & Spas’ brand footprint in Cancun and introducing Sunscape Resorts & Spas in the sought out beach destination of Akumal.

Javier Coll, ALG’s executive vice president and chief strategy officer of, said: “Hotel investors, this is the right time to have a strong partner in Mexico. The team at Oasis Hotels & Resorts shares our vision for growth, and together we can tap into our collective expertise in the market to deliver an unparalleled experience for travellers.

“As the market cycle continues to turn, now is the time for owners wanting to ensure future stability for their assets and capitalise on their investments to align with the right partner who can help them weather the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry.”

Grand Oasis Sens in Cancun will be rebranded as Now Emerald Cancun

The resorts are conversions of two existing resorts, which will undergo renovations and reopen under AMResorts’ brands on 1 June 2019. Grand Oasis Sens in Cancun will be rebranded as Now Emerald Cancun, offering guests 427 rooms and the brand’s signature Unlimited-Luxury vacation concept.

The second property, Grand Oasis Tulum, will reopen as Sunscape Akumal Beach Resort & Spa, the first hotel for the brand in the area. Guests will enjoy Sunscape’s Unlimited-Fun vacation concept, and the property will be comprised of 360 rooms.

The AMResorts brands continue to expand in Mexico, with new properties slated to open in the country beginning in late 2019 with Now Natura Riviera Cancun, and more properties scheduled to make their debut in 2020 and beyond.
