HMH consolidates presence in Oman
HMH – Hospitality Management Holdings has announced the signing of management agreements for the Corp Muscat Al Muzn Hotel and the opening of Coral Muscat Hotel & Apartments.
Laurent A. Voivenel, the Dubai-based company’s CEO, said Oman was a key development market in keeping with HMH’s strategy to prioritise expansion in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
“The hospitality industry in Oman is witnessing remarkable growth at the moment and we are eager to capitalise on the favourable market conditions,” he said.
“HMH is well-positioned in the region and equipped with the most advanced technology and we are confident both Coral Muscat Hotel & Apartments and Corp Muscat Al Muzn Hotel will add tremendous value to our growing presence in Oman while strengthening our international portfolio.”
Focusing on the mid-market sector in response to the demand from budget-conscious travellers, HMH has outlined an ambitious expansion strategy to grow its footprint in Oman.

Laurent added: “Oman saw inbound tourism numbers rise by an average of 7.4% per annum in the last decade and is targeting 12 million visitors annually by 2020 which is fuelling the demand for quality mid-market hotels.
“Oman Ministry of Tourism has forecasted hotel room capacity to expand at an annual growth rate of 5.3% over the next four years while tourism is expected to contribute 5% to the country’s GDP by 2020.
“These figures are indicative of the growing appeal of Oman among global travellers and presents an enormous opportunity for HMH. Our aim to have six hotels in Oman by 2020 while multiplying by four our total inventory of keys.”
Coral Muscat Hotel & Apartments, which welcomed its first guests in April 2016, is a deluxe 4-star property conveniently located in Qurum, 20 minutes’ drive from Muscat International Airport.
