Wyndham offers support to Australian Red Cross and firefighters
Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific has donated $30,000 to the Australian Red Cross bushfire appeal and will also gift free holidays to Mt Hotham – Dinner Plain CFA volunteer firefighters, who have been battling dangerous blazes in the Victorian High Country.
Although many of the fires have now receded, the areas are now also struggling with flooding following torrential rain.
Barry Robinson, president and managing director, International Operations, Wyndham Vacation Clubs, said a number of resort guests, timeshare club owners, staff members and resorts have been impacted during this unprecedented fire crisis.
Two club properties in Victoria – Ramada Resort by Wyndham Dinner Plain Mt Hotham and Club Wyndham Lakes Entrance – were also forced to close following evacuations over the busy Christmas and New Year period.
“The courage and tenacity shown by the firefighters and emergency services personnel during these fires has been nothing short of heroic,” said Robinson.

The bushfires devastated large swathes of New South Wales and Victoria
“Many of these volunteers missed Christmas and New Year’s Eve with their families, and we hope that a much-deserved resort stay, with the date and destination of their choosing, will give the firefighters and their families something special to look forward to, along with a well-deserved break.”
Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific has a portfolio of 26 resorts and hotels across Australia and 70 properties across Asia Pacific and manages the region’s largest timeshare club, Club Wyndham South Pacific, which has close to 60,000 timeshare members.
The company’s customer service teams have been calling more than 3,700 club members residing in bushfire affected areas to check on their welfare. A free stay is also being provided to any Club Wyndham South Pacific members who have been personally displaced by the bushfire emergency.
As part of its annual refurbishment programme, the company also continues to donate thousands of pieces of quality used furniture to local charities.
